Location

Southern Dunes is just a 20 minute drive from Disney World but has a tranquil atmosphere – a perfect retreat after an exhausting day in the parks. Sea-world, Universal and Cypress Gardens are also just a short drive away. The Kennedy Space Centre at Cape Canaveral and Cocoa beach are approx 45 minutes drive away. Daytona (with the famous race track and beach that you can drive on) is an just over 1 hour away. If you head West towards the Gulf of Mexico you will find Tampa, Clearwater (with white powder sandy beaches and warm sea) and St Petersberg. Clearwater is approx 90 minutes drive.

Local Shops

Two supermarkets are located directly outside the entrance to Southern Dunes, Super Wal-mart and Winn Dixie. There are many local fast food outlets including McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Chinese take-away to name but a few. Restaurants nearby include Sonnys Barbecue Pit, Mannys Chop House and China Garden Buffet.

If you turn left when exiting Southern Dunes and travel for 10 minutes along Highway 27 South you will come to Eagle Ridge Mall. This is a lovely mall with many large stores including JC Penney, Sears and Dillards and lots of smaller shops. It has many restaurants, a 10 screen cinema, indoor carousel and also a bowling alley.
